Jamie Hyneman's 'Arborist' Quadcopter Test

Jamie Hyneman's 'Arborist' Quadcopter Test
While Adam's interest in quadcopters is from a photography and cinematography perspective, Jamie can't help but think of other potential applications for RC multi-rotors. For example, using a quad for landscaping work on otherwise unreachable foliage. We head out to a remote location to safely test Jamie's modification, with some surprising results and lessons learned. Definitely don't try this at home.

NASA Previews Orion Spacecrafts First Flight Test

NASA Previews Orion Spacecrafts First Flight Test
During a NASA Television media briefing from the agencys Kennedy Space Center in Florida, NASA officials discussed the completed construction of the new Orion spacecraft and details of its first test flight, scheduled for Dec. 4. JB's New Glitch 240 Mini FPV Quadcopter Racer Test Flight

JB's New Glitch 240 Mini FPV Quadcopter Racer Test Flight
Thomas FPVing JB's new Glitch 240 Mini Quad on an extremely windy day! We were visiting JB last week and before leaving to go home he was really wanting Thomas to FPV it and provide some feedback.

The park had some people in it, but it's worth watching how Thomas is well aware of where people are and how he avoids going near anyone. We don't normally fly in these sorts of parks but it gives you a good idea how the Spotter is working with the pilot.

All in all it's a great little quad with some fantastic design features.

Heli-Max 1Si Quadcopter Review, Flight Test, & First Impressions

Heli-Max 1Si Quadcopter Review, Flight Test, & First Impressions
The new 1Si with onboard video, sound, and still camera shots is really a neat micro RC quadcopter. The video isn't good at all unless there is good lighting; however, with good lighting the video quality is pretty impressive. The sound works, but, it isn't the best, and you can't hear anything over the noise of the rotor blades when the quad is in the air anyways.

The controls feel a bit 'mushy' to me.

Sample footage from my eBay Alien 500 Quadcopter upgrades. Changes include brand new Custom Brushless Gimbal Design, Chinese arms replaced with DJI Arms, KK replaced with Naza-M Lite Controller. Since the Gimbal doesn't hang underneath, I no longer need legs and as such she can get way more airspeed on it without the quad oscillating due to the drag from the legs and gimbal.

Syma X5C Quadcopter Drone Test Flight

Syma X5C Quadcopter Drone Test Flight
Flight test of the Syma X5C Explorers quadcopter with HD video camera: http://www.banggood.com/Syma-X5C-2_4G-4-Channel-Remote-Control-RC-Quadcopter-p-913827.html?p=RB0922217402201307U3

My thoughts:

1: Camera is OK for a 720p, but it's pointed way too far downward. But this is easily corrected by removing its mounting screws, and hot-gluing a shim in for a better view angle.

2: It really isn't very steady outside of hover in maneuvering flight.
