Space Station Dirty Laundry-Is It Washed? There is not enough water produced on the ISS to accommodate an 'out of this world' washing machine. All clothes are replaced by cargo missions and dirty laundry (not spacesuits) is burnt up on the cargo craft's atmospheric re-entry and destruction.

Super-Typhoon Haiyan Seen From International Space Station On Friday Nov. 8, external cameras on the International Space Station captured views of Super-Typhoon Haiyan which struck the central Philippines municipality of Guiuan at the southern tip of the province of Eastern Samar with a force equivalent to a Category 5 hurricane.

Robots Aboard International Space Station

Ames Research Center, MIT and Johnson Space Center have two new robotics projects aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Robonaut 2, a two-armed humanoid robot with astronaut-like dexterity, is currently undergoing onboard testing. The second is the SPHERES satellite, which recently got a smartphone upgrade that gives it eyes, ears and a sensor array. These robots could assume mundane, sometimes dangerous tasks: monitoring radiation, filter change-outs, some extravehicular activities

Space Station Robot Astronaut by NASA. NASA has created the first ever Robot Astronaut and sent it to the International Space Station. NASA named the robot Robonaut. The Astronauts welcome the robot as one of their own as they unpack him at the Space Station. NASA hopes that the Robot Astronaut will be the future os space science.

NASA | Space Station Robots Test Techniques of the Future

In an important demonstration of new technical methodologies, from January 14-24, 2013, NASA engineers will try to simulate the transfer of fuel from one vehicle to another, in space, with nothing but robots doing the physical work. Called the Robotic Refueling Mission, it's a major step on the road to developing a robust suite of essential robotic capabilities in space.
