Shipsterns Bluff FPV quadcopter - 27-6-14

Finally made it back out to Shipsterns Bluff today to film big wave surfing. Wasn't a huge day but still pretty good. I started using my Blackout Miniquad and Spiderhex but the crazy off shore wind became far too strong to keep the cameras still and those little speed demons, they were going out of control so I had to use a Phantom instead which held up surprisingly well in the strong winds. I'm looking forward to attempting this on a day with much bigger waves.

Heli-Max 1Si Quadcopter Review and Flight

This is the Heli-Max 1Si quadcopter RTF with camera. I really enjoyed testing out this little quad and the camera makes it that much more fun. It is very stable in the air and the video quality turns out very nice. Even the novice pilot could have a blast with this quadcopter.

In the assembly/test building (Oleg Kotov (Roscosmos, Russia), Sergei Ryazanskiy (Roscosmos, Russia) and Michael Hopkins (NASA, USA)) crew of the Soyuz TMA-30a transportation spacecraft made a check inspection of the spacecraft in the launch configuration and got acquainted with equipment to be delivered and returned to the ground.

New Expedition 37 crew members Oleg Kotov, Mike Hopkins and Sergey Ryazanskiy were welcomed aboard the International Space Station on Wednesday at 9:34 p.m. PDT. Their Soyuz spacecraft docked to the space station at 7:45 p.m., four orbits after launch at 1:58 p.m. from Kazakhstan. The new residents were greeted by Expedition 37 Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and Flight Engineers Karen Nyberg and Luca Parmitano.

As Kitten Jam's Turn Down For What tune plays, Tulip and Daisy seem hypnotised by the beat (or maybe a tin of cat food in the background).

While perched on a tartan rug, the delightful pair nod their heads in perfect timing to the tune as if by magic.

The talented duo were fostered by Hayley Markham and Andrew Kerr who will soon be putting them up for adoption at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, Virginia.

The video was posted to YouTube this week and is fast approaching one million views.

In the meantime, the active region in the foreground put on an impressive show of its own with loops and flashes as magnetic forces struggled with each other. The video clip, which covered about 36 hours, was taken in extreme ultraviolet light.

FuriousPua: Nano Sumo Robot Winner of RobotChallenge 2010 (Vienna)

In this video you can see my nanosumo robot FuriousPua. A nanosumo robot is a sumo fighting robot with a limitation of 25x25x25mm and 25gr. It's completely autonomous after I press the start button.

On 20th and 21st of March 2010, I participated in the competition RobotChallenge 2010 (Vienna, Austria) and I won the 1st price in the nanosumo category.
