Demonstrating completion of the first qualification task for the 2013 DARPA Robotics Challenge by the Creative Robotics and Future Technologies (CRAFT) team.
The task was to control the simulation of the Boston Dynamics Atlas humanoid robot to traverse the arena shown, passing though the control gates and including crossing the ravine via stepping stones.
The simulator offers sensor models for stereo cameras and LIDAR which we combine into a 3d-point cloud for operator visualisation of the environment.
The simulation runs on the Gazebo simulator provided by the Open source Robotics Foundation.
